Lucca comics 2024

"The Butterfly Effect" is the theme chosen for Lucca Comics & Games 2024. It couldn’t be otherwise in the centenary year of Giacomo Puccini's death, one of the greatest opera composers in history, who left a profound mark on his hometown of Lucca. The reference is not only to "Madame Butterfly," but also to the wonderful intersection of comics, cinema, games, and music produced by the Lucca Comics & Games project, just as a century ago, opera blended art and magic.

Guests
This edition boasts so many guests and events that it’s hard to compile an exhaustive list! Among the most interesting is the Japanese master Yoshitaka Amano, renowned for his work in video games and contemporary art, who this year created the triptych of posters inspired by Giacomo Puccini for the most anticipated community event of the year. Comic book lovers will also have the chance to meet Scott Snyder and Jeph Loeb, two giants of American comics, who will bring their universe to Lucca!

A Rich and Varied Program
The program is so extensive that it’s difficult to summarize! From comics (don’t miss the meeting with Gene Luen Yang) to games, from manga to animation, from TV series (the highlight will undoubtedly be the meeting with director Hwang Dong-hyuk and actors Lee Jung-jae and Wi Ha-Jun) to cinema. In addition to celebrating 100 years of Puccini, Lucca Comics & Games this year also dedicates space to the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons, the 40th anniversary of Tetris with an event featuring Henk Rogers and Alexey Pajitnov, and the 20th anniversary of Lucca Music, celebrated with the event "Twenty Years and Then...", where 22 singers, soloists, and musical groups will perform on the main stage. For families, Lucca Junior offers a sea of fun activities!
